On Monday 8th February 2016 was an event to celebrate the success of the Defibrillator Appeal, and the installation of the first fixed defibrillator at the Day Centre. We heard about the work of the Stansted team of First Responders, who are all volunteers. They have received training and are responding to calls in partnership with the East of England Ambulance Service. In the near future, a second fixed defibrillator is due to be installed in the refurbished telephone box in Lower Street.
The community appeal to raise funds to purchase and maintain defibrillators, those little machines that can get a heart beating again after a heart attack, raised about £6,000 and has now closed. For more information please contact our Secretary using the form on the Contact page.
